Full Contact Boxing and Kickboxing
If there is one thing that Fire and Water is known for, it is our full contact fighters. The Fire and Water philosophy has always been: To be a good fighter, one must both hit and be hit. In a life threatening situation the ability to take a punch may make all the difference between success and failure. The ability to stay level-headed and do what is necessary while under extreme pressure can only be learned through experience.
Fire and Water students have the opportunity to gain this experience through the pursuit of contact sport fighting. This contact fighting is offered in the forms of Boxing and Kickboxing. Whether a student is interested in contact fighting for sport, self betterment, fitness or competition, all of these avenues are available.
One such opportunity is the Golden Gloves Boxing offered through the Fire and Water Boxing Club. This Fire and Water affiliated club is a registered member of Southeastern Boxing and provides the opportunity for students to compete on both the regional and national levels.
Even though the fighting is full contact, safety is emphasized. Practitioners must wear protective head gear, 16-ounce boxing gloves, mouth pieces, groin protection and shin guards. Beginning students can ease into contact fighting at their own pace. An experienced instructor will preside over all bouts and training sessions.
A regulation boxing ring is on-site for training and sparring purposes. The school has several sets of gloves and head gear available, but students are encouraged to have their own gear if possible.
